Art of the Quilter is an exhibition at the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg featuring historically significant American-made quilts of the 18th and 19th centuries.

As the designer of this exhibition, I conceived and executed the overall look and feel of this design including the logo, 12 light panel labels, light attic, and introduction labels. A low-light gallery and light panels were necessary to ensure the preservation of these historic quilts.

The logo design incorporates the process of quilting with the needle and thread imagery.

The use of lighter pinks and greens in the labels was very intentional. Not only did it represent the colors seen throughout many quilts in the collection, but it also represented the woman who created these pieces of art.
